Global Monthly Weather & Seasons FAQ
Generally, a period with low monthly rainfall of less than 30mm and many sunny days is classified as a 'dry season', while a period with monthly rainfall exceeding 100mm to 250mm or frequent tropical squalls is classified as a 'wet season'. Using SUNNYSIDEMAP's rainfall filter, you can easily compare dry and wet seasons of cities worldwide on the map.
Simply select your travel month (January to December) in the sidebar filter and adjust the temperature and precipitation options. Cities that match your criteria will immediately light up on the map. Cities with a tourism score of 8.0 or higher represent the absolute best times to visit.
For each city, we aggregate Meteostat daily observations from the nearest weather station across the latest three completed years (currently 2023–2025). Average temperature and rainfall are three-year averages, while high and low records are observed extremes from that same period. It is useful for comparing seasons and travel timing, but it is not a forecast for a specific travel date. Check local short-term forecasts and weather alerts before departure.
